Gladno pole

Gladno pole is a small, relatively new neighbourhood of Plovdiv. It was shaped up in the 1970s when the town was expanding. The locals give account of the place as bare fields where no crops could be cultivated, so the authorities gave them to the army in 1928. This explains the name Gladno pole (starving field).
